1. What the program is

Credolex LLC runs the program itself for the healthcare employers that use Credolex (nursing facilities, home health agencies, staffing agencies and clinics). Credolex collects consent on its own pages, sends every text from its own number under its own terms, and honors STOP across every employer. Each text names the person's employer so they know which job it is about. Texts about an employer go only to that employer's own staff, and only to people who have agreed in writing to receive them.

The texts are about work, never marketing. There are three kinds: license and card renewals, shift offers and alerts, and workplace notices.

  1. License and card renewals. A license, certification or card on the person's file is about to expire, with a link to upload the new one.
  2. Shift offers and alerts. A shift the person can work has opened, with a link to say yes or no; confirmation that they have the shift, or that it was given to someone else or cancelled; and an answer when they text to call off or to answer a shift offer. Supervisors and on-call staff who agree to texts also get alerts when someone calls off, when a shift is covered, and when a renewal of someone they oversee is overdue.
  3. Workplace notices. Their employer has posted a notice for them, with a link to read it. The notice itself is never in the text.

A few texts keep these working: twice a year Credolex may check that the number on file is still theirs, and it answers when they text in, for example to call off a shift. If they work at two employers that use Credolex, it may ask which job a call-off is for. Staff at their employer can answer a text the person sent with one of Credolex's set replies; they cannot write their own. Texts are in English; a call-off texted in Spanish gets its link in Spanish.

Every text starts with "Credolex:", names the employer it is about (apart from a HELP or STOP answer to a number no employer has on file), comes from the same Credolex number, and ends with how to opt out. Credolex's own texts never name a medical test, vaccination or other health record: a reminder for one reads "a health item of yours", because text messages are not encrypted between carriers.

2. How a person agrees

There are two ways, both written, and neither is ever ticked for them.

  1. On their own page. Their employer emails them a link to their own Credolex page. There they enter their mobile number, tick a box that is never pre-ticked, and press "Turn on work texts". The full wording beside the box is shown at credolex.com/sms-opt-in.
  2. On paper. They sign the Credolex text message consent form, printed from credolex.com/sms-consent-form, on its own or as its own signed page in their employer's hiring packet, and their employer records it in Credolex.

Agreeing to texts is not a condition of employment. Nobody gets texts without one of the two; a spoken yes is not accepted. Consent is for the number given: if the number on file changes, texts stop until the person agrees again for the new number.

3. The confirmation text

The moment a yes is recorded, Credolex sends one confirmation text to that number. Between 9pm and 8am it waits until 8am. Texting START after a STOP gets the same message. For an employer named Example Care Center it reads:

Credolex: Example Care Center: you are signed up for work texts: license and card renewals, shift offers and alerts, and workplace notices. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

4. Sample messages

Example Care Center is an example employer name; each text names the person's own employer. The letters after #/c/, #/o/ or #/n/ are different in every text.

  1. Credolex: Example Care Center: your BLS Certification expires Oct 12. Upload the new one: https://app.credolex.com/#/c/7K3QM9TR2WX4HC8D Reply STOP to opt out.
  2. Credolex: Example Care Center needs a CNA tonight 7p to 7a. Can you work it? https://app.credolex.com/#/o/9QH2TW6NBX4KD7RA Reply STOP to opt out.
  3. Credolex: Example Care Center posted a notice for you. Read it here: https://app.credolex.com/#/n/3VR8PZK5MJ2XT6WH Reply STOP to opt out.
  4. Credolex: Example Care Center: Dana Ruiz called off Fri Oct 9, night shift. It needs cover: https://app.credolex.com/#/coverage Reply STOP to opt out.
  5. Credolex: Example Care Center: Got it, you're logged off Fri Oct 9, night. Feel better. Reply STOP to opt out.

5. How often

Message frequency varies. Most people get a few texts a month: a reminder as a renewal date comes close, and more in a week when their employer has shifts to fill. Non-urgent texts are not sent between 9pm and 8am in the employer's time zone. Urgent shift texts can go out then: shift offers and alerts about a shift that starts within the next 12 hours, and the answer to a text the person has just sent, such as STOP or HELP.

6. Cost

Message and data rates may apply, from the person's mobile carrier. Credolex never charges the person who receives the texts.

7. Stopping, and getting help

  1. STOP. Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT) to any text. Texts stop at once, from every employer that uses Credolex, and one last text confirms it: "Credolex: Example Care Center: you will get no more work texts. Reply START to turn them back on."
  2. START. Reply START to turn texts back on after a STOP. The answer is the confirmation text above.
  3. HELP. Reply HELP (or INFO) to any text. The answer names who is texting and how to reach us, for example: "Credolex: Example Care Center work texts. Help: support@credolex.com or your workplace. Reply STOP to opt out."

A person can also stop texts by asking their employer, or by writing to support@credolex.com.

8. Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include the major US carriers; a carrier may not support every message.

9. Privacy

We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers, or a person's consent to receive text messages, with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties, except with our text message provider (Telnyx LLC) and the phone carriers it hands a message to, solely to deliver the texts a person agreed to receive. The rest is in our Privacy Policy.
